The series of lectures by Anatoly Pashkevich

We invite you to a series of lectures by Anatoly Pashkevich, professor, head of the department “Automatic control and industrial production” at l’Ecole nationale supérieure des techniques industrielles et des mines de Nantes (Nantes, France). The professor works by invitation at universities in the UK, Germany, France and the USA, he is the author of more than 140 publications, has an h-index of 19 and more than 1,400 citations.

Lecture 1

Computer-aided design of industrial robots and robotic systems: selected results

It is presented a brief overview of previous and current work in area of robotics, control and computer-aided design of industrial robotics systems. Particular attention is paid to multiobjective optimization of robotic manipulators and their control algorithms, robotic cell calibration and automatic generation of control programs.  The results are illustrated by numerous application examples from automotive and airspace industry.

Lecture 2

Combinatorial Optimization Problems in CAD of Industrial Robotic Systems

The presentation concentrates on application of combinatorial optimization techniques to real-life engineering problems arising in computer-aided design of industrial robotic systems. It includes a number of case studies dealing with design and automated programming of robotic cells/lines for arc/spot welding and laser cutting, which are employed in automotive industry. Particular attention is paid to computational complexity and formalization of technological constraints as well as software implementation of the developed technique.
